Jay Seibert is a certified K-12 educator with a masters degree in Special Education. He has been in public education for over a decade, working primarily with students from Kindergarten through 8th Grade (elementary and middle school). He has taught in many different classroom settings as the general education teacher and special education teacher. He currently serves as the Media Specialist at Frank J. Dugan Elementary School in Marlboro Township, where he teaches over 600 students.
His unique approach to teaching stems from his own passion for learning new things. This approach leverages technology to engage all learners, embraces individual diversity as a strength, and uses the growth mindset to overcome obstacles and challenges. While his teaching methods are different, they result in empowering learners to ask questions and confidently seek the answers out themselves.
When you walk into his classroom, you see kids collaborating with one another, sharing ideas, writing on windows with dry erase markers, designing 3D prototypes on computers and printing them out on 3D printers. You see genuine joy and excitement for learning. You see smiles and celebration even in failure. Children will say, "This is so much fun!" Mr. Seibert would say, "That's because learning is fun!"
